EVS, the world leader in live video technology for sports competitions, is present at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. An opportunity for the Liège-based company to celebrate its 30th anniversary by welcoming its customers to EVS House, and to look back on the company's successes.
Liège-based EVS celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2024. For the occasion, the world leader in live video technology for sports events has rented a vast bourgeois building with a rooftop to create an EVS House during the Paris Olympics. The major TV channels have increased their capacity and infrastructure for the Olympic Games, with their own editorial lines. These TV channels, including France Televisions and NBC, are using EVS solutions during the world's biggest sporting event (4.1 billion viewers at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021).

"That's why we opened an EVS House in Paris during the Olympic Games. We've always been in the habit of organizing events with our customers and partners. This year, we're celebrating our 30th anniversary. We had to mark the occasion", explains Sébastien Verlaine, Senior Brand & Corporate Communications Manager at EVS.
The theme for the company's 30th anniversary is "Family & Friends Together for Live". "As a result, we wanted to invite our customers as if they were at home. The decor is designed to make you feel at home, with photo frames and memorabilia from the 30 years. We have a program of activities. For example, there's a visit to the France Télévision studios, and a presentation and demonstration of our new products at the EVS House. We're also offering a beer brewed in Liège called La Trente", explains our contact.

A little bit of history
For those unfamiliar with EVS Broadcast Equipment SA, the company was founded in 1994 and quickly became a pioneer in the development of equipment for digital image recording on hard disks. This revolutionary technology laid the foundations for the very first replay system based on a digital platform, forever changing the landscape of live video production. Two years later, the company is already present at a major sporting event in Atlanta. EVS also opened regional offices in the USA, France, Italy and the UK. And so began the magnificent EVS journey. Three decades later, the Liege-based company continues to implement new technologies and to be at the cutting edge of its field.

EVS is more than a slow-motion sports car
"Our greatest pride is that we're still growing. We created a niche 30 years ago. And since then, we've always been able to reinvent ourselves with new technologies and an expanding product portfolio. We have invested heavily in innovation. We're also working on AI to integrate it into our solutions," comments Sébastien Verlaine.
While it is the slow-motion sports market that has made EVS's reputation, the technology company is keen to point out that it provides a complete range of products and services for storing, referencing and editing videos broadcast in the sports, entertainment and news sectors.
