WOWIE! I'm in Belo Horizonte, State capital of Minas Gerais, to continue the propagation of our Walloon know-how, which is based both on tradition and innovation. As the son of a Flemish father from the Antwerp Kempen and a mother from the Ardennes, and born at Ougrée, literally slap bang in the middle of Cockerill's blast furnaces, I have scoured steelworks plants across the 5 continents, always to return to my Wallonia, my Belgium, with the same satisfaction, certain of the well-being I was going to find there. Strong roots then, deeply anchored in a soil which bears witness to an illustrious industrial past, but which also looks "necessarily" towards the future and is resolutely open to the rest of the world. Head and feet in Brazil, but heart in Wallonia.
